Rejoice

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

I am grateful for the blessings in my life and rejoice in the LORD.

Hello God,  Have I counted my blessings lately?  Probably not often enough.  My health is good.  I had enough to eat today.  I have some amazing friends.  I have a terrific family.  I have meaningful work and a divine purpose.  My heart is filled with gladness.  I live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Thanks be to God!

Winds Of Change

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Why do we resist change?  For the entire history of man, in the bible or written on the sands of time, things change.

Somehow we want to settle in and get comfortable.  My theory is that the winds of change can put us on course to find the right direction.

When we loose our job, or some major life event takes place that turns everything upside down, we pray for everything to go back to normal.  (Another theory of mine is that “normal” is a setting on the dryer, and not a state in our lives.) So when things change perhaps we should pray to find our new direction.  Pray to gracefully embrace the exciting challenges that now come with this change.

Pray that we keep moving forward and not wish for the past.  Today is a great day because you make it so.  You find something to be grateful for in this day, and live it with enthusiasm.

Genesis 11:31  Change came when Abram’s family left Ur to go to Canaan but ended up in Haran.  Genesis 17:5 Abram’s name was changed to Abraham.

Instead of praying to for everything to go back to normal, pray to find your way through the changes.  Pray to find productive work that becomes your passion and your joy.

Don’t fear the winds of change. Set your sails for a new course and fear not.

Prayer The Book

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

An exciting event is taking place.  I have written a book called “Prayer: The Gate” and it is available on Amazon.com.

It is the result of listening for the still small whisper of God’s voice.  It also is a result of my passion to communicate with God, and develop and strengthen my spirit by lingering in the presence of God.

More will follow and the look of this blog site will be changing in the next couple of weeks.  A link will be added to Amazon so folks can order the book.

I want to thank friends and family for their support and encouragement.  I want to thank God for blessing me with creativity and inspiring me to write about the wonder and joy of prayer.

Fully Present In This Moment

Friday, September 19th, 2008

I read a new study recently that said all the activities we plan for our children creates a lot of stress and many struggle in school because they are over-scheduled.

I believe it is true.  When I over-schedule my own day, I have less time to be creative, to pray, to live fully present in this moment.  I am focused on the future and not what I need to think about most which is right now. There is always a feeling it I should move on to the next task quickly.

Prayer for today:

Father God, let us realize there is more than enough time to live in this moment.  Let us be grateful for this day and the time we have in this life with our friends and family.  Let there be beauty, creativity, and grace sufficient for this day.  Amen

A Grateful Heart

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Being thankful changes a person’s attitude.  I have started a gratitude journal.  Everyday I sit for a couple of moments and reflect on what I am grateful for.  It changes my entire day.

“God, thank you for blessings beyond any measure.  Each day as I look around at my family, friends, prayer partners, co-workers, clients; I feel so blessed and filled with gratitude.  My life is rich in so many ways.  Thank you, God.”
