As God Sees Us

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

We tend to surround ourselves with people who think as we do.  It is a dangerous thing.  It is dangerous because we begin assume we are right about everything at that point.  We see the value in each other only if we are in agreement.  What happend to “we agree to disagree”?

We each are unique and beautiful

Christ died for all people.  He didn’t die only for conservatives or only for liberals; only for mainline protestants, or only for catholics; only for those who speak Farsi, or only for those who speak some other language. Christ died for all people.  He came so that we may have life more abundantly. (more…)

Sometimes my life is too crowded to let God in.  I fill it with my to-do list, shopping, cooking, cleaning, working, and studying.  My emotions also can leave no room for God.  Things like: grief, anger, jealousy, impatience, panic, and grudge carrying  can fill the space of our lives.

I look for the spiritual path.

If we are attached to the material nature of the world; If we think of ourselves as something, then God cannot clothe his self in us, for God is infinite.  No vessel can contain God, unless we think of ourselves as Ayin.     The Kabbalah (more…)

Temptation

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

We all have something.  Some baggage, rock around you neck, monkey on your back…whatever…We all have something we fight.

Good news, the weapons of our warfare are spiritual. With God all things are possible and we can overcome.  We are not defenseless.  God is our defense and our deliverance now!

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen

They don’t come with a blinking neon sign that says “Miracle Here, Look, Look!”.   We have to seek them, recognize and acknowledge them.  When you are open to the idea that miracles happen all around us, you can begin to see them.  They come in all sizes, and various shapes and colors.  But only those who seek them, find them.

Thank you God, for the miracles of each day.  Help me to see and recognize them.  I appreciate the miracles in everyone’s lives, not only my own.  Watch out for all of us, and help us to watch out for each other.  Amen

Sieze the Day

As I traveled the Pikes Peak highway last Sunday, I was thinking how I plan and make lists.  Then, think I’m accomplishing something by checking things off the list.

In Kabbalah and the practice of Mystical Judaism it is suggested  the ultimate reality is there is only NOW.  While we are busy checking our lists and squinting to catch a glimpse of the future,  making a feeble attempt to prepare for it, there are those who know there is only Now. (more…)

Making a Great Week

Monday, June 8th, 2009
I drove the Pikes Peak Highway yesterday.  There was a bit of snow on top and it was 35 degrees with the wind blowing.
Amazing God, I stand in awe of the beauty around me.  The wonders you have created and the joy I feel  in my journey.  The new work week is at hand, and I ask for guidance and divine order as each task gets done.  Thank you for being with all of us this week.  Thank you for meeting our needs.  There is more than enough time, money, compassion, grace and joy.  Amen
