A Song and a Prayer
The Psalms are filled with bold statements. They are a song and a prayer. I believe David wrote them so as he would sing them they would help him stay strong in his faith, and remind him of the power of God.
Psalm 46
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; 3 Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.
10 “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold.
