May God give you a million …
Sunday, June 1st, 2008“May God give you a million times whatever you wish for me.”
Kind of makes you think that you don’t want to wish or say anything hurtful or diminishing to the person that said that. Makes you want to wish that they get a million dollars, because you will get a million times that.
I have a dear friend who drinks a lot. He has lost hope. His wife asked him a number of years ago to stop drinking, but he said it just wasn’t possible. He had no hope then, and it is probably worse now.
I can relate in a couple of areas. I quit smoking and gained quite a bit of weight. I have worked hard to restore my body to it’s former slender state without complete success up to this point. I still am fighting the battle and will not give up, but I do loose hope. Some days I think I’m only fighting to keep a huge weight gain from sneaking up and attacking me, so it becomes holding ground with no hope of gaining ground and making progress. Maybe that is why I can see loss of hope easily in others because I experience it myself.
Another good friend observed that it seemed to her that she would pray a prayer of petition for herself, but God would give those blessings to other people in her life. Maybe that is kind of how it works in a weird way, we pray for wisdom, hope, love, prosperity, healing and good health for all those around us and God will bless us with what we have prayed for others.
If it is true then I pray God will give you wisdom, hope, a million dollars, perfect health, and all the desires of your heart. And what you wish for me…back at you a million times over.
Blessings,
Newsong
